dishes can be prepared with a microwave, from fudge to meat loaf. Below are
some of our favorite micro-magic tricks. I know that you know,
but I'll sleep better at nights, if I give the safety spill: Never put metal
into the microwave - including tin foil. Always supervise small children,
teenagers and men around the microwave oven.... heck, around the whole kitchen!
Never stand right in front of the micro-oven while it's cooking. I once had a
door throw itself open and boiling water shot out all over me. Bad, bad
marshmallow creme in the microwave to use as a dip for fruits or graham
crackers. Kids of all ages will love it! It's also fab when drizzled on
Angel Food Cake or Pound Cake. Be sure to remove the lid....and keep a
close eye on the creme.....it shouldn't take longer than 35-40 seconds to
melt to the consistency you need. If you go too far, let it cool...then
dry bread crumbs for a recipe? Cut about 8 slices of bread into small
cubes. Microwave in a glass casserole dish for 6-7 minutes....stirring
after 3. Crush in a blender.
the socks off the sweet-toothed ones in your life with this quick treat:
Microwave a bag of plain popcorn. Pour into a large glass bowl. Toss in 2
individual bags of plain M&Ms and two individual bags of M&Ms with
in mind when nuking that the colder the food, the longer the required
amount of food being cooked also affects the required cooking time....more
microwaving foods with their skins, pierce the skin in several places with
a fork beforehand. This keeps them from bursting like balloons!
use tightly closed jars or containers in the microwave...they can explode.
